Walking Out Hunger in West Virginia
Mountaineer Food Bank has partnered with Tom Knopp from Kenova, WV to be a part of Walking Out Hunger In West Virginia this Spring. Mr. Knopp will begin a fundraising/advocacy campaign on April 22 by walking all 55 counties in West Virginia to talk about hunger and hunger relief efforts in the state.
Tom is a cancer s urvivor and has made his mission in life to support hunger relief in his home state. Tom will start his walk on April 22 in Wayne County and will visit Mason, Jackon and Wood County to start. Keep track of Tom through his website www.walkingouthunger.org. Volunteer Groups Needed
Volunteer Groups are needed from now until the end of the year to help package food boxes for food pantries. If your church, civic or student group would like to volunteer, contact us at 304-364-5518. Large groups can make arrangements for Friday/Saturday schedules.

A Vision for Success
In 1981, Mountaineer Food Bank was created through the efforts of an anti-hunger coalition looking for ways to feed more people. They began creating relationships throughout the state, and started the rural food delivery system in the Feeding America network.
Today, Mountaineer Food Bank is the state's largest supplier of food and personal products for people in need of emergency assistance. Through a sophisticated network of feeding programs and donors. Mountaineer Food Bank now serves over 500 programs in 48 counties in West Virginia.
Our state of the art facility and ordering system allow us to deliver to each county every month. As a food bank, we provide food to soup kitchens, food pantries, day care centers, shelters, after school programs, Back Pack programs, and senior programs when they need it. We are charter members of Feeding America, a national organization dedicated to hunger relief.
Our central location in Gassaway, WV allows us to deliver, receive and collect food from all over the state in a efficient, timely manner.
