Fresh Initiative Kids Market

Mountaineer Food Bank's Fresh Initiative Kids Market is for elementary aged children, regardless of income.  Each school is sponsored by a specific grant where every child in that school receives 7-10lbs of produce. Not only do the children receive produce to take home to their families, but students will also receive recipes, nutritional information, education on plants and agriculture, samples of produce or produce prepared in different recipes. Each child receives a bag to go ‘shopping’ through the market and picks the produce themselves to take home.
